Halifax

Nova Scotia

Halifax is the capital city of Nova Scotia and the economic hub of Atlantic Canada.

Halifax is completely unique in this world. The largest single population collection and economic centre east of Montreal, Halifax is Atlantic Canada’s big city. No other city can claim to be both east coast metropolitan harbour city and Canadian at the same time.

Halifax, and Nova Scotia more broadly, is also disproportionately smart with more academic institutions per capita than anywhere else in the country. There are seriously lots of schools here. Our high concentration of colleges and universities creates a flow of new minds, and a seasonal cycle of hard work and renewal.

The preeminent Canadian tourist destination on this coast, Halifax is regularly visited by land, air, and sea. If you haven’t spent time in Nova Scotia in the summer, put it on your list. It’s an epicentre of locally-sourced ingredients and top cuisine, and the local wine and craft beer scene in Halifax is, we think, mind blowing. Music, not to mention, remains a cultural backbone here.

Halifax is a city with an entrepreneurial spirit, a fascinating history that harkens to the forming of our country, and a harbour city charm. People take the ferry to work here.
